Why we Patrol

"As the oldest and only member of the original 100 patrollers let me say that it has been a life long joy. The clatter and and chatter of a busy patrol room is a melody of commitment to helping and sharing with friends and strangers. Greeting life long friends every season, the warmth of a family all around, we all share the love of the sport and a deep sense of helping and caring for the public and our friends. If you aren't standing on the edge you are taking up too much room..Parnelli?."
David Cox
Ski Patroller
"Working in the very compartmentalized world of Federal law enforcement, I found the Ski Patrol as an invaluable conduit to decompressing the everyday stress of my work environment. I have used my OEC training in support of my professional duties, including my time on the special response teams, as well as other unique assignments. The members of the Ski Patrol, and specifically my team mates, opened me to many different occupational and life experiences. I have always looked forward to seeing what my friends did in the “real world” while coming together to help those in need on the slopes. It is this fellowship, this oneness of purpose, that has inspired me and restored my faith in people to help others."
Greg Liske
Ski Patroller
"The skills I've learned in OEC have allowed me to help people on the hill and off.  I enjoy the challenge of bettering myself to make a stronger patrol through the senior program.  The opportunities for leadership and sharpening OEC and skiing skills are available to all through the Ohio Region programs. Most of all, a day spent on patrol is a day spent with my ski family, and they're the best people you'll ever meet."
